System Architecture
The hardware has at its core a microcontroller with a firmware resident in it while the software comprises of a 3-tier technology in its design. The first tier is a database utilized for storing staff personal and attendance data, the business intelligence of the application system is implemented using the middle tier and finally the third tier is the web-based presentation layer which provides a user friendly interface for staff monitoring and generation of reports for better management decision making.
Procedures
The RFID Machine Reader reads the card when a staff waves the card close to the reader. The reader displays a welcome message. The client Application connects wirelessly to the RFID reader. It fetches the information and displays the card details on a PC and then writes the information to the database. Finally, they web application helps to display the card details on the corporate network and also provides other tools for producing management reports.
